THE BANDS |

Members: Phil on Guitar, Cyrus on Guitar and Backup Voca ls, Ian on Drums, and Nick on Bass Sound: Punk, Post Hardcore, Rock Review: FKR This band knows that they are doing and they are talented with what they do. Some people say they are great, others say that they need to change up what music they play and how they organize the songs. I think they are pretty good, especially when they put on the private shows, i hope to see a lot going on with this band....and look forward to seeing them do more soon. Download: Coming soon??

Psyclon Nine Members: nero 0, Eric Gottesman, Josef Heresy, Marshall Carnage Label: Metropolis Records CD: Inri Download: Go buy the CD! Gorak the Dick Review: Psyclon Nine - Cd: Inri I personally loved this album and i am happy to see them off the ground and doing really well. They were recently touring in PA, and other places, they started in Hayward, CA I believe. Also a few of my friends know these guys and its awesome to see on of us hitting the big time...I say go get the CD if you like Dark Metal and Industrial Music, but dont listen to me and Read this other review..... Internet Review: Read the Whole Review here at: http://www.raves.com/cdreviews/show/67/PSYCLONNINE-INRI If ever there was electro with the attitude of black metal, this is it. Fortunately, it lacks the instrumental bombast of such violent music. Here, the attack is in the lyrics and vocals, both of which I'll address momentarily. Instrumentally you're facing a blend of standard electro industrial with melodic but dark songwriting and beats that dwell in a large mid-range. There's a tad of distortion but its fairly sleekly textured. However, there are guitars in places and though not of the extreme metal intensity they do (when coupled with the vocals ... which I'm getting to) tend to call to mind heavy metal. It is ironic though that at least once I was made to think of electronically oriented pop from the 80s. But that didn't last long. I was soon thrust back into the electro world where wicked vox delivered their dark message to me. While raspy vocals (told ya!) are anything but uncommon in electro-industrial, it is a bit strange for them to be this high pitched and hissy; it may be this as much as anything that made me think of black metal. But, of course, there are also the, uh, irreverent lyrics, which summon sacrelige on a par with many anti-Christian metal bands. Churning with cynicism and hostile unbelief, written with a sharply poetic pen, Psyclon Nine makes a strong point that will require the open-minded to appreciate. Fortunately for me I like shocking, iconoclastic ideas, and the music ain't too shabby either. -- review by Kristofer Upjohn

See Colin Slash Founded: 1998. Members: Greg Dunn, Eric Gottesman, Adam Weinberger. Styles: Dance-oriented industrial with a sense of humor and an old-school edge; also folk. no, we're serious about that. really. go listen to the mp3s. Releases: Food of the Gods, the first See Colin Slash album, available directly from us in fall of 2002. Gorak the Dick Review: See Colin Slash I like this band a lot and i know a lot of other people that like this band as well. I am not too sure if they are still together, but I found a lot of their mp3's on the internet and a lot of my friends know them or listen to them, i think they are an awesome mix of good musicians making good music! They rock 5 out of 5 stars! Miscellaneous: infamous for the ironic EBM track "hardcore!", which has become a favorite at goth/industrial clubs across the globe. Also infamous for meticulous acoustic versions of tired industrial club "hits", which will be released on their own full length CD later this year. History in their own words: aah, see colin slash. where will your shenanigans lead you next? to the depths of a fiery volcano? to the highest peak of the himalayas? to the corner, to contemplate what you've done? perhaps to the store, because we're out of milk. where ever their travails may lead them, it is the purpose of this document to record places to which they have already been led, like so many sheep, cattle, and apoptygma berzerk fans before them. but has see colin slash, nay, have any of these fine examples of evolution truly been led? or have they commanded their own fate?
